McDougall House Association is currently seeking new Board Members.
McDougall House Association (MHA) is a not-for-profit society and registered charity, established in 1969, providing residential second stage addiction treatment for women. Women who come to McDougall House have already completed a first stage addictions program and are seeking further support in their recovery. MHA takes a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment, offering trauma informed programming that includes individual counselling, group counselling, and workshops. MHA is licensed with the Alberta Government as an inpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment center and is accredited with Accreditation Canada.
Our annual budget to operate our facility is primarily funded by Alberta Health Services but we rely in part on fundraising and grants available to meet our full operational and capital funding needs.
MHA is currently seeking new Board Members. MHA is guided by a volunteer Governance Board and Committees (People and Safety, Governance and Ethics, Finance and Fundraising) dedicated to overseeing and supporting the vision, mission and goals set forth. Candidates will need to demonstrate the following general attributes:
While we are particularly interested in candidates with a background in fundraising, addiction (with a focus on addiction treatment programming), legal, and someone interested in the role of Secretary for the Association, we would welcome any candidates who feel that they have experience to offer and who have the time and commitment to contribute to MHA. If you are interested in a particular committee, please indicate this in your resume.
If interested, submit your resume to the Board Chair [email protected] by May 31, 2023.
Thank you for your interest.
